How do I access the Portal?
The portal is accessed via the web at https://breedingservices.jax.org
What web browsers are supported/recommended?
Firefox and Chrome are the recommended browsers for the system, Internet Explorer is not recommended
Can I use my tablet or phone?
Apple and Android mobile devices are supported, however a tablet is recommended for the best experience.
I've forgotten my password, how do I get a new one?
Click the "Forgot your password?" link on the login screen, or contact JCMHelpdesk@jax.org.
How do I change my password?
Click your name at the upper right corner of the page and on the new page, there will be a link to change your password. Click the link and you will be prompted to enter your old and then your new password.
Can we have multiple people from our organization registered in the program?
Yes, multiple people may be registered, and you have the option to designate someone within your organization to manage your organization’s accounts. Contact your Breeding Services project manager or JCMHelpdesk@jax.org for more assistance.
What is the JAX Colony Management program?
It is an intuitive and powerful online project management tool to efficiently and effectively manage mouse colonies, collaborate with staff and report on key metrics to make better decisions.
Who should I contact with questions and feedback?
Contact your Breeding Services project manager if you have questions or would like to provide feedback.
Can I name my projects something that I recognize easily?
You may create your own name for each project, click "Change Project Name", type the new text and click save.
Can I work with my Project Manager through the program?
You have the ability to ask questions and provide instructions, as well as upload and download documents. Interacting through the program (instead of email) is encouraged as it keeps the conversation in a central place and in the context of the projects and colonies involved.
How current are the data for my projects?
The data for projects are updated once a day.
Can I look at the state of the projects in the past?
To view historical data on your project, you can click the calendar icon and go back to specific date on the drop down calendar. Only those dates for which data are available will be selectable.
Can I place an order through the program?
The program does not include the ability to place an order at this time.
How do I know when there is new information for me to review?
You will receive a daily email digest of any new communications and documents that have been added in the last day (or since your last login, if that was more recent).
